The Gladys Project is an FREE early childhood literacy and learning program.

The Gladys Project was founded in 2015 by  Gladys Elaine Wilson-Reddy and carries the name of her mother and grandmother. While the name represents strong women who care about the future of their families and invest in their children's education, the organization is dedicated to being inclusive to all members of the community, regardless of sex, gender, race, ethnicity, religion and socio-economic class.

The mission of The Gladys Project is to promote a love of learning among children and their caregivers.

The goal is to teach parents/guardians how to read and interact with their toddler or preschooler to promote a love for early learning.

We serve families with children ages 1-5 by pairing each family with a volunteer who is committed to a personalized learning program based on the individual child's developmental needs.

Each family spends 30 to 60 minutes a week with a volunteer that remains with them throughout the program.

We aim to promote healthy literacy and learning habits that encourage each child to meet developmental benchmarks.

Each family receives FREE books throughout participation in the program.

We are a proud partner of the Heart of Kentucky United Way.
